Summary
This article will show how you, an admin, can allow a worker to upload documents after they have certified they do not need to upload documents.
Example: The worker failed to upload their I-9 verification and skipped that step of onboarding.
Walk-Through
When an employee goes to fill out their onboarding forms, including uploading their I-9 verification documents, the process makes it clear that they have three options:
- Upload the documents immediately
- Finish later - as it sounds, they can finish uploading later.
- Skip the step - By clicking "Skip this step", they certify you do not need any I-9 verification documents to be uploaded and/or you've submitted them separately to your employer.
If the person wrongly chooses "skip the step" and needs to go back and add their I-9 verification documents, as an admin, you must mark their paperwork as "incomplete" in terms of their status.
Here are the steps to do so:
1. Go to the dashboard and click on the employee. In this case we will choose "Smith, Jane"
2. Hit the "Edit Worker" button, once you are on their Worker Profile
3. Towards the bottom right hand side of the page you'll see a dropdown with their status.
4. You can now select from the dropdown there and select Incomplete-Documents Not Uploaded. You are doing this so that they can go back in and add or correct documents.
5. Lastly, you will simply click the "Save Status" button. Then hit "Update" button.
You may now tell that person to log back in. They will automatically land on a screen notifying them of next steps.
Once they complete the steps, the admin will be able to go back in and review those documents.
